HIRE OF THE INSTITUTE
The Institute is owned by the Council and anyone wishing to hire a room or the hall can do so by contacting the caretaker, Mr Brian Howells on 07891238293. The charge for the hire of a room is £7.00 for a 3 hour session or part thereof. The charge for the hall is £12.00 for a 3 hour session or part thereof. The Institute is currently used by the following organisations:- Pontarddulais Senior Citizens, Cor Glandulais, Dancing Club, Zumba classes, Karate Club, Creative Cards Group, Quilting Classes, Sewing classes, Scrapbook Club, ARC, two art classes, Labour Party, Carmel Church, Slimming World, Tenovus, Christian Aid, W.I., Merched y Wawr, Careers Wales, Coedbach Bowls Club, the Welsh Blood Transfusion Service and the Pontarddulais Local Produce Market.  Anyone wishing to hire a room or the hall or require further information can contact the Clerk to the Council

COUNCIL PRECEPT
At a Special Council meeting held on Thursday 26th January 2012 the Council decided to increase its precept for the financial year 2012/2013 from £79,000 to £82,000. This means that anyone in a Band "D" property will pay £36.56 per annum on their Council tax as opposed to £36.54 last year.

REQUESTS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Any organisation wishing to be considered for financial assistance can submit an application form to the Clerk to the Council and such applications will be considered in the March Council meeting. Applications must be accompanied by the organisations most recent balance sheet. The Council's Grant Awarding Policy can be viewed under the "Council Policies" heading. QUEEN'S JUBILEE 2012

 The Town Council has met with Llanedi Community Council and the Pontarddulais & Hendy Festival Committee to discuss the possibility of celebrating the Queen's Jubilee in 2012. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas can they please contact the Clerk to the Council on 01792 885890 or e-mail him at pontarddulaistowncouncil@yahoo.co.uk

RECYCLING

Anyone wishing replacement food waste bags, green bags or pink bags can now receive them via the Town Council by either telephoning or e-mailing the Clerk to the Council or by completing the enquiry form on this website. Click "Enquiry Form" on the left hand of the page. Alternatively they will be available in the Local Produce Market in the Institute on the second Wednesday of each month.

 CITY AND COUNTY OF SWANSEA'S LOCAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN

 Landowners, developers and the public have been invited to submit Candidate Sites for consideration whether they are suitable for inclusion in the City and County of Swansea's forthcoming Local Development Plan.The Town Council called a public meeting on Friday 16th September 2011 to discuss these sites. The notes from that meeting are available on Public meeting notes LDP.doc. The covering letter to the City and County of Swansea regarding that meeting are available on Letter to PLanning re Candidate Sites Public Meeting.doc. The Council discussed these Candidate Sites at a Special Council meeting held on the 22nd September 2011.
