Childrens Film Shows The Council presents a childrens film in the Institute, 45 St Teilo Street, Pontarddulais on the first Saturday of the month. It commences at 6.00pm and entrance is free. Details of the next film wil be posted in advance. |

Local Produce Market A local produce market is held in the Institute, 45 St Teilo Street, Pontarddulais on the second Wednesday of each month. Stalls include fruit and vegetables, meat, preserves, cakes, smoked fish, Greek produce, bread, coffee, jewellery, cards, photographs, wood turning etc. The market is open from 9.30am until 12.30pm. Anyone wishing further information can contact Councillor Gail John, Secretary of the Market Committee (Tel No. 01792 885 890). The next market will be Wednesday 8th February 2012. |

Christmas illuminations This year the Christmas illuminations were switched on on Friday 2nd December 2010. After the success of last year's lights the Council had decided to increasing the amount of lights on the Christmas tree in the Dulais Glen Gardens. As in previous years there is also an illuminated Christmas tree in Dantwyn Park. The Christmas Parade is organised by the Pontarddulais & Hendy Festival Committee and further details can be obtained from their Secretary, Mrs Celia Borthwick on 01792 883337. |

War Memorial The Council resolved to refurbish the cenotaph in St Teilo Street and works have now been completed. Unfortunately one of the hands on the Memorial has been vandalised and has disappeared. The Council is now in negotiations with the War Memorials Trust to make a grant application for the replacement of the hand. Kidney Wales Foundation Walk for Life
The Walk for LIfe took place on Sunday 27th March 2010 with the walk starting in Water Street, travelling via St Teilo Street and Pentre Road towards Alltygraban Road and stopping for a comfort break in Pontarddulais Garden Centre. There, the proprietor, Mr David Evans, greeted the walkers with a complimentary cup of tea/coffee and a buttered scone. The walkers then proceeded back via Bolgoed Road and St Teilo Street to finish at Water Street. Anyone wishing to make a donation to the Kidney Wales Foundation can do so by contacting Councillor Gail John on 01792 885890. The Council wishes to extend its sincere thanks to Pontarddulais Garden Centre for their continued support which is greatly appreciated. |
